As an Amsterdam-based clothing brand, we naturally take a lot of inspiration from our city. For the two t-shirts in our first collection, we have taken inspiration from the Montelbaanstoren and the Westertoren in Amsterdam. Both of these iconic buildings are not only Amsterdam landmarks, they also both have nicknames.

The Montelbaanstoren is vernacularly called ‘Malle Jaap’ and the Westertoren ‘Lange Jan’. By showing these buildings and their ‘volksmond’ nicknames, we want to teach people about Amsterdam architecture and language. The XXX collection is produced completely in The Netherlands by people with a refugee background.
